The World's Most Thrilling Ski Lift
Helicopter flights provide a good part of the kick you'll experience on a WPG trip. You'll feel a visceral rush when the helicopter lifts off, accelerates and descends. Unmatched bird's-eye views of mountain crags will be yours right from your seat. And, best of all, the helicopter is fast, so you can ski thousands of vertical feet in a day.
We don't offer trips to Mt. Everest (yet!), but the helicopter we fly most frequently—the French-made Astar AS350 B3 Eurocopter—could easily handle the job. In fact, it holds the world record for high-altitude landing and was the first and only helicopter to land on the 29,035-foot peak.
The Astar has six forward-facing seats (pilot and guide seats up front, a four-person bench in back), a configuration that provides you and your fellow guests with spectacular panoramas through the windscreen. We also occasionally use the Astar AS350 B2 model and the Bell 407.
